Last week, MSNBC’s Jen Psaki discussed the overreaction of parents and policymakers regarding males (trans-females) who play in female sports, suggesting it is not as widespread as imagined—that it is a political boogeyman by the right that may even be frightening those on the left to “amplify bad faith attacks.”
Yes, but there's something EVEN MORE important than the social, psychological or even medical problems of either individuals or groups due to the curse of identity politics. I'm thinking of the inevitable fate of any SOCIETY that insists on denying common sense in the name of "social justice." There can be NO justice that relies on illusion rather than truth. Sorry, I've said this many times in order to support your excellent studies, and I'll probably end up saying it again. Anti-intellectualism will bring us ALL down. And our anti-Western enemies within (and abroad) are already planning to build on the ruins.
"... Psaki warns people “not to yield to manufactured panic and to align with the actual facts before making sweeping claims. Echoing and adopting the panic from the other side is not leading. It’s not meeting people where they are; it’s simply falling prey to right wing propaganda without checking the facts first.” ..."
Manufactured Panic. Adopting Panic. Yup, sounds like the Democratic party - always trying to be in panic mode, and make everything and everyone around them acquiesce. I wonder if Jen is going to circle back and tell us more things to panic about.
Dishonest cherry picking. It’s true that few transwomen/transgirks are competing in female sports. But those few who do have huge advantages. Lia Thomas and Emily Bridged are leading edge examples of natal males who have unfair advantages when competing as females. Now is the time to set the rules, rather than waiting until the problem becomes worse.
If natal males don’t have a sporting advantage over natal women, please show us the trans men who can compete with natal males. Just a couple of examples will do. All examples of elite transmen athletes and nonbinary females that I have seen are still competing in female sports
I think the real answer rests in competing in one's chromosomal sex. But women who receive testosterone should be ineligible to compete against women and men. Exogenous testosterone is a banned substance in sports. There are all sorts of other considerations around locker rooms and such that make this problematic.

"There can be NO justice that relies on illusion rather than truth." Tremendous comment.
Reminding us all of anti-intellectualism can never be stated enough. Keep it up.

Karyn, Thanks for the higher sense of humor, sarcasm. It really goes a long way when we discuss these serious matters.
Let’s pass was to keep it zero

Thanks for the comment Steve. I agree it's time to nip it in the bud before it becomes worse. But I also think high school sports are impacted more in some states, like California, than is being reported (https://www.mercurynews.com/2024/11/21/female-students-sue-riverside-schools-alleging-they-were-told-to-remove-shirts-opposing-transgender-athletes/). Much has been made of San Jose State University's women's volleyball team because it's a university and colleges are forfeiting games against them.

But thanks for your response.
